Durathumb – Custom 3D printed thumb stabilization orthosis/splint
$150.00 – $250.00
Durathumb stabilizes the thumb by supporting neutral joint alignment and preventing hyperextension. Each Durathumb orthosis is custom designed based on the client’s measurements.
After your order is placed, we start the design process by sending you a sizing kit first. We then design at least 3 prototypes based on your measurements. You pick the best fitting one and we will make the final copy of your splint in the color that you choose.
Shipping is free for domestic US orders. International shipping available worldwide.

This is a really clever design! It helps stabilize my MCP joint with minimal surface area, allowing my thumb to retain a large portion of it’s range of motion. The silicone strap allows me to rest my hand on a table without it digging into my wrist. The splint also slides well over a mouse pad, allowing me to use my mouse without it being too obtrusive. This means I can keep it on for when I type, which is when I usually hold tension in my hand and collapse my MCP joint (as I hover over and press the space bar). I have used both the PLA plastic material, and the more expensive Resin material, and both work great. Though, I personally prefer the Resin material on my skin.
Stella is also wonderful to work with! She really cares about her clients, her product, and making them a good match. She was so patient with me, and was willing to work with me to get my splint to fit my hand just the way I needed it! She was open to feedback and enthusiastic about making the Durathumb work for my thumb.
I highly recommend this! A custom splint that’s comfortable on your hand is the only way to go.
Great product! Stella is incredibly helpful and easy to work with. She does multiple sessions with you to ensure perfect fit and function with you. I work in healthcare with gloves on, and the splint is low-profile and fits very well under the gloves. I definitely recommend Durathumb!
Finding this product – and the woman who created it – was a stroke of good luck. I’m hyper mobile, but only in the last year has it started to affect my thumb. I like to embroider, and my hand would be sore for days afterwards. The feeling of instability in my thumb was literally sickening. I could see that it was bending in a way it wasn’t supposed to.
Working with Stella was a total delight. She is professional, responsive and detail oriented. She sent two different versions for me to try before she made the actual splint. The one I decided on provides me with a feeling of joint stability that I haven’t had in a while. I’ve already had a colleague ask me about the splint and for the Durathumb information. I’m a first-grade teacher and my students said it looks cool. If you are on the fence about ordering a Durathumb splint – I urge you to go for it! You won’t be sorry.
